Elizabeth City First Church of the Nazarene

From the Pastor

Jesus said, ...'I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18b) While our salvation is very personal, Jesus declared that the church would be the avenue that hewould work through, for he declared that in building his church he would give us the "keys to the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 16:19). Then in his last words he gave us the commission to "make disciples" ( Matthew 28:19). We here at Elizabeth City First Church of the Nazarene take this commission very seriously. Not only are we devoted to world and local missions, but our worship, study and fellowship, we believe, are under the annointing of the Holy Spirit. Our greatest desire is to be Jesus, not only to a dying world, but to one another. We declare, "In him (Christ) the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple, in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." (Ephesians 2:21, 22)
